Whilst looking for the meaning of a TLA I came across this french site, viewed translated it is quite ammusing how some of the translations work e.g. PIA = bread in the arse.
Well it kept me ammused for a few minutes.

Howard,
If I was going to the trouble and expense of putting bread in my arse I would want it to amuse me for more than a few minutes..

Sorry but IMO the Armed Forces win.

Acronyms for just about everything. Lorry? Naaaah, TCV - troop carryinh vehicle. Spade? ETH - entrenching tool hand. Boots = BCH, Boots Combat High ( OK no longer issued, now LPC mk1 - Leather Personnel Carrier. )

Etc

Spending money I don't have on things I don't need.
