Bargain!

Posted by: Willem van Gemert on 10 January 2001

I finally balanced my system: I just bought a one year old NAC 102 MC, Hi-cap and NAP 180 for less than 50% of the new price! I intended to skip the NAC 102 and NAP 180 and go directly for a NAC 82 and NAP 250, but it would have meant I would have to live longer with a pair of SBLs driven by my converted Nait 3R. I think this solution is much more preferable and will make future upgrades easier as well. I hope to have the gear before the weekend. I'm really looking forward to it and will let you know my impressions next week!

Ciao!

Willem (CDS, NAT 01, NAC 102, Hi-cap, NAP 180, SBLs, Flash)

P.S. As the NAC 102 is from the middle of 1999, it means the Source up/down function of my Flash will function as well! smile

Hoi Alco,

Thanks! I guess I'm quite lucky with my second hand Naim purchases. The funny thing is the seller didn't manage to sell this combo for quite some time now! I suppose because he wanted to sell the whole lot together and not separately. If I sell my beloved Nait 3R + Flatcap this whole upgrade will have cost me less than 1.000 GBP!
If you're ever in Luxemburg (on your way to France with your caravan wink) you can always drop by for a listen!

Peter,

Nice to see you posting again. I have read a lot about the importance of the NAPSC for the NAC 102 and I definitively plan to check one out in the near future as a NAC 82 will probably have to wait a bit longer. Next on the list is a decent rack. I use a Mana Mini Table under my CDS and am very impressed, but would like to try Hutter as well before deciding.

Ciao!
