Naim vs Sonneteer

Posted by: Alco on 02 November 2000

Hi Folks,

My Naim dealer here in Holland always had a great
passion for Naim amps. To him, Naim always was the
best when it came to amplifiers.(He especially loved the old Naities 1&2)
But...recently he discovered the "Sonneteer" integrated amps. Lately it seems that many people are trading in their Naim amps (int & pre/power)
for a Sonneteer "campion" or "Alabaster" at his store.
(the campion cost about the same as a Nait-3)
now, I'm very happy with the sound of my old Nait-2 and I haven't compared my Nait with a Sonneteer yet. (but they sure look good though)

but...is there another Naimoholic out there who
heard Sonneteer or compared it with Naim ??

Greetings,
Alco Koerts

I wish if it is not too hard that everyone who mention a new manufacturer - will give the site address so I can see it on the net.

I'm not familiar with many of the manufacturers members are mentioning in the forum.

Well, Arie.

What do you think about www.sonneteer.com

I did hear the "campion" amp from Sonneteer. It sounded very good, but I didn't hade the chance
to compare it with Naim.

Looks good of course I don't know how it sounds.

While auditioning systems (and a lot of time since I did it last) I don't have to compare it with Naim like A B compare, first because I know A B is not a good idea but a continuously
listening to each, secondly and more important, Naim systems are so special by sound (doesn't matter if you love it or hate it) that it "jumps to the mind" if a system is a competition or not to Naim.
