HEX - Sky One (made me feel uncomfortable)

***** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ************
***** NO PLOT GIVEAWAY THOUGH *****

Did anyone else see this last night?

Whilst I didn't think it was particularly good, I will give it another chance next week before making a snap decision.

I think what particularly bothered me was the sexual content. Now, I am in no way a prude, two of my favorite TV shows at the moment are Deadwood and Carnivale. Both of which have had a lot more explicit sexual content. So why was I bothered by it in HEX?

I thought that the blonde girl was sexy enough to carry the show without the nude shower scene. I dunno what it is? Sky seem to think that the only thing that sells a show is sex. I just found the sexual content in HEX to be uncomfortable. Maybe it has something to do with the age of the kids... When I was 17/18 years old, my friends and myself weren't that worldy wise.

I think that if they toned down the sex aspect of the show and concentrated a little more on the story, then Sky could have a big hit on their hands. At this rate, if there isn't a significant improvement next week, I will be switching off.

The Sex in Hex?

Why does nudity always = sex in the UK? I had a shower (naked) this morning and there was no sex involved (as far as I know).

Big Grin

As for the actual sexual content in Hex, did I miss something? A brief shot of some soft core porn and a lingering glance or two? Maybe I fell asleep before the rude bits? What bothered you exactly?

Buffy was much more explicit than this!

As they were (like most US shows as well) 25-30 year olds playing 17 I wasn't too bothered. Most of the teachers looked the same age as the kids!

PS I liked it. It was so much better than the BBCs attempts at 'supernatural' thrillers.

Are they going to repeat this? I saw an ad for it in the paper and it looked pretty cool, but thanks to Virmin Trains, I wasn't home at the time I was supposed to be (3 hours late - 3 changes more than I should have had, no seats).

I've not watched TV (other than DVD/VHS/playstation) since June(!!) so not seen a trailer for it...

Just thank your lucky stars you are not in the USA a naked ankle will probably get the TV stations fined now I should think. (Unless its HBO of course, but then the moral minority don't have cable/satelite).
