Hell may be a bit strong, but it won't turn off. When i click start--turn off or restart,it just goes to the desk top, also after i've logged on when i click favourites and then select a site,it tells me that the page i want is not available off-line,and gives me the choice to "work off-line "or "connect"i have to click connect to view pages.Any help would be marvelous.

Push and hold the power button in <5sec. This should switch the whole thing off. Then power up as normal, it should have reset every thing back to normal.

AL4N,
it maybe that you have something nasty lodged in your browser and this has the run of the machine and won;'t relinquish control until it has had its way with your surfing. Not nice, not nice at all. I fear you might need the services of tools like spybot and ad-aware to remove this pest from your machine. Do you have any spyware / malware killing tools you could now run?

www.panicware.com A good and free popupstopper, the free version is a bit difficult to find but it's there

i have just ran AD-WARE 6.0,i hope it helps.I think i had to delete norton when i installed broadband,(it would not log on with norton installed)so i suppose that could be the problem.
