Scary memories - my house was built in 1970 (give or take a year) and was bought with the original interior decor. The colour scheme of the tiling and sanitory fittings was positively scary - rapidly replaced I hasten to add.
I don't know if I have photographs of the dining room but will look out for them. Imagine if you dare two tone paintwork incorporating brown and orange...

The slumberbags on the front page are funny - 'genuine fake fur'.
Is there any other kind
Hilarious though, my parents house looked like that when I was young.

I'm not kidding when I say 70's interior design can be quite warm and inviting when done right. It avoids the mass-produced cookie cutter feel of the 80's and the methadone-chic of today's tastes.
Memories of a gentler time.

for example this living room just makes me want to chill and spend time with friends
The ashtray goes as noone smokes anymore and
I'd replace the silly modular coffee table with the quadraspire equivalent, but that's about it.
Oh, and maybe toss the receiver for some cyrus kit.

At least the stereo's seen here and there in the pic's are much better looking than most boxes sold today!
What I certainly don't understand is why one would want a horse living in the kitchen, as in picture four?
And in the year 2034 someone will make a joke out of todays interior design...

What's not to understand? I like how there's a little lettuce on the kitchen floor for the horse.

We knew the babysitter was just a dumb blonde, but we at least expected her to know the difference between the baby & the doll.

Nah - she is a dumb blonde. She's trying to read the instruction manual for the doll .

What's so bad about this one?
I LOVE the style of the furniture in this one (and the stereo looks good too!):
My folks' old house in Plymouth still had the original carpet when they left - 1972 orange and brown! Groovy baby! It also had a bright orange garage door and some very naff brown/beige kitchen tiles

I'm just another victim of your highrise fantasy!

Dom, now you have proven beyond any doubt that your eyes truely are bad

Is that an early Tivoli Stereo prototype (two green wood encased boxes) in the 2nd of Dom's pictures?

Hermann, that ain't your house is it? No wonder you chose the Mana option over that one?
