Power supply upgrade.

Hello.

My system comprises of CD 3.5, Nait 3 and Credos, I am in the process of arranging a demo of a second hand Hicap but have just seen comments on the flatcap2.

Has anyone any experience of comparing the 2? which would you recommend?

Cheers

Or you could buy two s/h flatcaps (circa £180 each) !!!, if you don't intend upgrading for a while.

The Hifi + review of the flatcap 2 is quite good, the main conclusion was that in the cd5/nait setup it was best used to power both... but thats £475 mate.

Jonathan's right, i went from flatcap to hicap, and the difference is BIG, but the s/h hicap will set you back ~£450.

Keep in mind that a Hi-Cap can power only one component. (I would suggest that you use it with the pre-amp instead of the CD player.) In contrast, the Flat-Cap2 can power both the pre-amp (with it's primary supply) and the CD player (with it's secondary supply).

However, the Flat-Cap2 is not as good as the Hi-Cap, so you should probably listen to the two setups before making your decision. Catch you later!
