A new reference track - from a childrens al***!

Posted by: JBoulder on 06 October 2004

Today my wife bought our 2 year old daughter a cd with 25 songs based on poems written to children. I was still working (home office) when she put in on and as soon as it started I jumped up and went to the living room. Amazing stuff! One song in particular nailed me in the hot spot, I couldn't move. A wonderfull space of warmth and beauty opened wide in front of me, so honest and pure in presentation that my eyes got wet. Music so true and deep in all its simplicity (just female vocals and what we call a "finger piano") that I got goose bumps, like when you go out in the sun from a cool house. The recording is magnificent, which proves money is not always an issue, as this definately isn't a "cost no object" production. This is what I will play for anyone wanting to take a listen to my set from now on. If anyone is interested I can mail it in apple lossless (20Mb) or AAC (3Mb) format. I trust you will trash it after a few listenings and get the original (as you really want a childrens cd in Finnish... Wink ) so no serious copyright violation takes place...

Mr Boulder,

Is it in english ? My 5 month old is confused enough without bombarding him with Uralic poetry !

Well, there is a lot of just humming, which could be in English just as well Razz

5 months? He's not confused, just frustrated with you not understanding him instantly Big Grin

My daughter has had to adjust to bilinguality from birth and is doing just fine - mostly talks in the other (mom's, no wonder) but understands both.

But anyway, I'm not recommending this for your kids as much as you and your system. Mine (Sony SACD Roll Eyes - yeah, that needs work - 72/HC/140/Totem Arro) loves it.

Send me mail to johan[at]eonian.fi and I'll widen your and yours cultural experience, that is always a good thing!

Johan

P.S. Jumalauta - I just checked your "bio" - I'm not sure I'd survive hearing it through your system! Lucky you!

Over 100 views but not a single mail... Well, in case it's due to lazyness or caution (spreading your e-mail addresses) this could be a link to a hq mp3 file, in which case clicking it could be against some laws somewhere so I guess you shouldn't Roll Eyes
