Prime Minister Soon To resign

Posted by: Berlin Fritz on 15 December 2004

Not long now our Jack, though God only knows where you can sail the ship when
you do finally take the helm, your options really do seem somewhat limited now
don't they ? Gordon will swiftly be off to his PFI boulstered buddies in the
private sector in the first available lifeboat, Cherie will have saved enough
dosh from her 'Work' to get her backpack sorted and out of the public gaze, and
give our Tony time to write his memoirs with Lord Richard of British Virgin
Island fame. Yes Jack ! you will certainly need a team and a half to get her off
of the rocks this time around Sir, and I'm sure you can do it too, because
let's face it, there simply is no other alternative, innit.

Yes you are correct, just like the Bavarians steriotyped in your neighbourhood as you seem to play at being a so-called highlander, nothing to do with the real world, and everything to do with Hollywood and bullshit³.

That's a pretty big chip you have on your shoulder there Fritz.

What a sad life it must be spending all your free time in here ranting and raving about everything under the sun.....of course if you feel so strongly about things you could get yourself into a position where you could actually affect the outcomes.....but there again, that would mean actually having to get off your backside and doing something about it rather than pontificating on an obscure Hi-Fi forum.

As for me I'll just practice being an immortal.

Remember last year when just before the US election some people (including myself) thought that the possibility of Dubya / Rummy postponing that date because of some imaginary terrorist/security reason wasn't so very far fetched ?
Well, wouldn't it be naughty if just such a diversionary tactic happened in the UK, firstly to justify (?) the Home Secretary's unbelievably illogical and unconstitutional bill announced today regarding house arrest for who'ever fits the frame ? (Remember the good old SUSS LAW under Maggie?) and National paranoia against anything other than kosher, innit.

starbuck,

It's rare for me (or the Guardian, for that matter) to agree with Boris Johnson and the Tory press, but these new laws, which can be used to prevent people demonstrating peacefully against business, are pretty scary.

Theoretically, an old lady handing out leaflets outside McDonalds could face a fine and prison. As could the recent religious protestors outside theatres; the law threatens those who may impart 'financial loss' on a business, as well as ‘alarm or distress’.

Regards

Stephen

PS I found you strangely attractive in the new 'BattleStar Galactica'.....

I refer to the latest 'bullshit' regarding the WMD inquiry and who told who what to say !!! Cool
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by JonR
I'm amazed that story got no coverage whatever on the BBC yesterday Eek
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by Berlin Fritz
Jon. I beleive it's being discussed in the hoose today ? If what I hear is true and can be proven, I really can't see how any honourable leader can survive, whoever she/he is ?

Fritz Von Enough is enough³ Frown

P.S. I would imagine the BBC has a very close interest in this story ? Gilligan and all that !!! Roll Eyes
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by JonR
Yeah but they got shot of Gilligan (and the chairman and d-g who the government had obviously decided had 'gone native') after the astonishingly one-sided Hutton Report, and now it looks like the Beeb are running scared. A very sad state of affairs indeed.

I do hope you're wrong Jon ?
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by Berlin Fritz
It's not a sinister Tory plot, & I feel it's been dug purely by 'Ali & Tone' and if people don't recognise the significance of sending British Servicemen and Women to action on the strength of an obvious lie a factor far more important than all of the others put together(especially as lives have been lost) and pale into insignificance in my view, though at present act as a great smokescreen to the public at large, eg. hunting, food-dyes, waiting lists, pensioners rights, paranoia from terrorism, changing perfectly good laws into perfectly silly laws, and wasting more Parliamentary time on irellevant rubbish.

Fritz Von When are you leaving Mick ? Smile
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by JonR
The farce over the Charles/Camilla 'marriage' has been to my mind more than a useful and timely diversion from what should be top of the news agenda everywhere. It's an absolute scandal in my view that the government should commit the UK to war on the basis of a 'legal opinion' drawn up by a couple of pipsqueaks in No.10!

JR
Posted on: 24 February 2005 by Berlin Fritz
Yes Jon, it was rather conveniently timed to perfection almost wasn't it ?
though one mustn't forget that the Royal family and timing are difficult to
seperate, innit. I feel myself that If in the event of the General (viagara-free)
Erection actually occurring on May 4th, it may well also be much to the Prime
Minister's advantage to politically highjack the 60th anniversary of V.E. Day,
which happens four days later! and bundle it nicely in with the future €uropean
Constitution 'discussion' ?
Assuming he wins of course ? (or steps down as leader ?)
many I feel, see the sombre, though celebratory freeing of Britain by our fore-fathers &
Mothers from Nazi tyranny naturally, as a day for the whole Nation, and not to be played
around with by silly little egoistic oiks, who seem to very conveniently forget from
where they themselves came, innit ?

Fritz Von Well that's allright then !

N.B. I've just seen on 'Sky News' that the single Lockerbie bomber accused and jailed
has been moved (or is being moved ?) from the originally agreed Glasgow prison to a
lower security set up in Greenock. Wether Sky propaganda, or true ? I find the possible
implications of this man having an accident, or dying, or his cell being 'put on fire',
by prisoners looking (or being guided ?) to avenge the victims most profound. Without
going into the ins and outs of Lockerbie all over again, it is generally agreed by many,
that this man is a scapegoat, and the recent better Diplomatic Relations with Lybia, as
well as financial rewards (in both directions) large British Industrial contracts, as well
a 'fine top quality' Lybian oil, come as a result of this 'high level' compramise. It is
well documented that certain victims families themselves believe this man is not guilty,
and have proven their own belief alongside their grief by refusing compenasation to date,
as it's in their eyes tainted money, and 'Great Respect' to them too.
As this subject of
custody is in the news at the moment this could well prove to be another page filler, and
diversionary tactic to help us not think about (I didn't say forget) far far more important
matters of State that can only be changed by a vote of no confidence, just think of all
the bloody hundreds of hours of highly valuable Parliamentary time has been wasted talking
about fox hunting in relation to the reason's to invade Iraq, NHS waiting lists, etc, etc,
Democratic priorities at their finest methinks! and as our Mick says quite rightly, you
can't continually blame the Politician's, as the Electorate are ultimately answerable to,
or is that too fancifull and simplistic a thought ? Confused

Surely, Iraq has been more or less off the top of the news agenda since the elections there.

Agreed, Steve, until yesterday's revelations - surely a matter for national debate and concern.

Fritz, the likelihood is that Blair will win the election whenever it comes but with a reduced majority. He'll win by default because the Tories don't stack up as a credible party of government right now. So if Blair sees some capital out of hijacking VE day, then he probably will. I would put nothing past him these days.

I was just pondering upon wether Charles Clark is Prime Ministerial material or not ! I think the answer is a resounding Yes!!! though as some of you may well know ? I'd personally rather see our Jack at the helm (to start with.)
