System Pics 2005

Some of those piccies of mine on page 1 were interesting to take since I hade light sources but wanted the overall feel of semi darkness in the background without being completley swamped by the camera reacting to the light sources.

That was a CANON 300D digital SLR back on a EF series lens with the focal length at 28mm (which comes out at 35mm w the digital chip.)

I had the equivalent film speed at 600ASA which is a little noisy but seems to work OK (see close up of fraim).

It is interesting but the latest digitals have quite some capability to deal with different lighting now.

if you want to get rid of grain, search for the settings to switch off automatic sensibility (the DIN/ASA thing), set it to low (like 64 ASA) and accept even longer shutter times - no prob with a tripod. The pics I did are done with 1-3 seconds (plus fill-in flash - hence the "operation room" atmosphere).

And - post results...

About an hours work in photo shop!

Its supposed to be in the style of Lichtenstein, I have a bit to learn with photoshop lol.

Well, I'm impressed!

It looks like something out of a Japanese Manga cartoon!!

Wel the current image has been rastersized to around a metre tall and is being printed at Kodak as we speak

I can send you the image a bit smaller as its weighing about 56 megs at the moment, drop me a private topic and i'll organise it.

I think that it is tipicaly English those carpets.


Bhazen: It was on the ground temporary. Becouse i changed my listening position. That ideal position is not pracktical with the kids in my house. (cycling around in the room)


But it still sound very well. I 've not a realy special rack.

Hi Robbert,
no, I don't know them....but Maxell yes: I love NuSoul and contemporary R&B....
I haven't changed my Marantz 63KIS cdplayer yet, but I've changed my Nait3 with a wonderful Nac32.5 and Nap140 chrome combo: what a upgrade!!
cdplayer can wait, mine is still good by now ( at least until Christmas time )

But seriously, how did you do that in Photoshop?

Garyi - Awesome pics. Naim should have you do one for each piece of gear and sell them in the e-store (their old prints haven't caught up to the near style).

Well...

I am still learning Photoshop and these pictures have come from a publication I picked up in WHSmiths.

To begin, you want some good shots, the SBLs are obviously two shots taken at different angles (This afternoon) and spliced together at the end to give the finish.

Once you have a decent shot, destaurate it, then apply a 'Smart Blur Filter' set on Out lines only to give you a white on black outline of your image, then invert it.

Use the brushstrokes filter on 'heavy black' to emphasis the black lines, fill in where needed using a black pen (I have a wacom for this and frankly its essential you won't achieve it with a mouse)

Create a new layer set to multiply then add your colour as required, ignore the red background for now.

Once done create another layer for the background and colour in a solid of your choice.

In the main layer select filter>pixallate>colour halftone, set to four pixels.

Flatten the whole image and you are done.

Its easy to type but both images for a photshop spasm like me took a couple of hours each.

Sheila had the first one blown up and printed to silver halied at around a metre tall today and then backed to foam, I am well chuffed!
