I'm (99%) sure that it was not possible to use the attachment function on this forum for quite a while lately.

It used to work fine, but many people were told to use webspace to place/link their pictures.

Well, it appears that posting pic's attachments is working fine again!

So you DID include "Corner Blocks" into your room, at the end. And, the cussions probably care for most of the flutters. Looks very logical to me - sound wise.

And if you dare to move to close to your speakers, Sparky (isn't that his name ?) will help you change your mind (with this fierce face...).

After fiddling about with the "onlinerechner" from fast audio I suggested to Mr Pohl that the bass region may benefit from a couple of corner blocks. This solution still did'nt bring the response into the "sound studio" limits . Anyway he surprised me on Friday evening with them (turning to my wife with a grin on his face saying "yes they're ugly are'nt they" ) along with the speaker cable that he brought round. I still have an over powering bass when I play "fly on a windshield" Lamb lies down on broadway (Genesis) on vinyl, which was not the case when the speakers fire across the room where you saw them. It is interesting to make comparisons when listening to the same stuff through the Grado RS1-HiCapped(headline2), it seems that the bass is cleaner. Interestingly on CD I have yet to find something of a problem. The stuff where I thought I would run into problems, I have'nt yet.

In the end, no room is perfect and if most things work, I am quite happy

Do I spy a halogen bulbed dimmable uplighter?

If so; these things are notorious for pumping crap into the mains. I had one hell of a job to find a non-dimmable model (as they are so useful for subdued lighting). Do you have a separate spur?

Even if so; have you tried disconnecting it from the ring main to see if the system sounds better?

Even with a separate spur, my PC if plugged into the ring main, has a deleterious effect on the system.

Yes, I have problems with hairdriers plugged into the wrong sockets, but I put it down to temporary annoyances that are out of my control

They are called "Kugelschreiber". Some German hifi guru down in the deep Schwarzwald makes them. Unfortunately, they haven't made it to a wider enthusiast audience, because of their price. A great pity !

Hi Nb,
alas but not yet, due to lack of funds, and also the urge to save up for the supercap2!

The LCD will be a purchase next year, after a bit more saving up and research lol. I do like the idea of having a 9cm depth box between the SL2's, rather than the big toshiba thats there now, tho.

Yep. I saw a review of them in a UK mag a few months ago. Very complimentary they were about them to.
I was sort of referring to the style which is large scale and if you don't mind me saying intentionally old fashioned looking to suit particular furnishing schemes.
