Geoff,
What's the equipment you have stacked on the extreme left of your listening room.
It seems at odds with the superb naim equipment you have on your frame.

I see that your 'Quake' has become a 'Stampede'. Better?
I have a 'Strata 5' in place of a 'Q400' and it certainly performs better, as well as being smaller, more attractive and finely tunable from the hot seat by remote control.
Also great to see 'Can't Buy A Thrill' on vinyl - one of my all time faves. Have you tried the remastered Japanese made CD version?

Emil - Haveñt tried Chips under TT spikes, but will have a go for fun. I use the clamp. It is better on this TT than without.

John - Yep. I still have the Quake and it is used sometimes as a 2nd sub. I add it in for HT etc and set it to pretty low output. The Stampede is the main one and yes I like it more. It has better extension and the remote control is excellent. Makes tuning from the listening seat possible, which is so much easier, as I am sure you have also found.
On 'Can't Buy A Thrill' I have not tried the remastered Japanese version but the one I have (picked up for 4$ in the US recently) is in excellent nick and sounds pretty good to me.

Maybe you could PT me with an opinion about what the 300 does differently from the 250nkii.
I am into west coast JAZZ like Fourplay and Norman Brown which has quite a strong bass content aswell as mainstrem pop like the DAN etc.
