On the basis of last night's listening I would concur with your view - the GII certainly did nothing to diminish the general sound quality or even the PRaT of the system at all and, if anything, I think Hawk and I both agreed that whilst there was no immediate, in-your-face improvement there did seem to be an improvement in low-end clarity together with a slightly more open sound.
Like you, though, I think if I were to buy one it would be more about providing the system with an uninterrupted supply of clean power than anything else.

Just to add to that Dave, i previously had poor results with a cleanline and a std minisub in my Naim system... I had used them to good effect with a Non Naim system, but they did squash the dynamics... I had given up with isotek when my local dealer lent me the GII claiming it didnt have the negative effect of the earlier models... with nothing to lose i gave it a shot and it worked quite well. It definately didnt take anything away, and it does seem to clean up the bass regions. I guess the extent of the effect will depend on your mains... We are not talking night and day in either mine or Jon's system but there is a tangible improvement... The new star earthing seems more naim friendly..
