System Pics 2005
Posted by: Steve Toy on 05 November 2004
Further to Geoff P's marvellous pics on This thread, a new year and a new thread to post pics of your pride and joy (all-Naim or at least part-Naim) awaits so that we can all get nit-picky about placement issues - to your ultimate sonic benefit!
Regards,
Steve.

Nigel,
The pink wall, I hope, is gone from your room.
Altho, the Pink was THE colour to have in the last season.

OK, got my digital camera (at last). Here are some piccies of my modest setup:
Firstly the Hi-Fi
and
The silver box is my DVD player that is completely seperate and powered from a socket across the room.
You've all seen the CD5i so now the amplifier
You can just about make out the Isotek IsoPlug in background (no fancy mains block yet...just a simple non-fused double plug for the naim cd5i and amp)
Here's the amp all aglow and lovely in the dark
The Rack is simple glass shelves on metal frame, with halved squash balls trying to increase the isolation further
The following cabling shot allows you to see the custom made chameleon Din:Phono Silver + cable (from Chord) along with the biwiring of the quads and the "piggy back" banana plugs supplying the passive sub...
...which you can see hiding under the table in this shot from my listening position (speakers slightly toed in)
Simple but effective.

Some pics of my system
Included are some pictures of a meeting of the "New York Rave" audiophile club.
It was my opportunity to show a few round-earth Yanks some of Britains best.
The most common words they used to describe my kit was that it "kicked ass" and they dont mean donkey
Thats me trying to get the puck out of my CDX2.
I knew I should have kept my eyes on them.

I saw the set up. You aren't kidding. The speakers are much closer together than how I had 'em.
The Elites went loud all right in my room, too. But they were not together. The low bass portion was detached from the rest.
I'v got the 300 in. But, I doubt it can save 'em from the room/speaker mismatch. Pity.
