You have a GyroDec now! I used to have one of those, although mine had a black 'micky mouse ear' not silver, and is that an Aro I see there as well? That must sound amazing. I regret selling mine, although I did use the cash to make other needed upgrades.

Oh, and have you tried turning the lights off on your preamp and cd player when playing?

Richard: I do like the sound the Gyrodec makes, lovely and fluid. I have tried turning the lights off on the Naim. I actually thought I heard an ever so slight difference with the pre-amp but not on the CDS3.

John: Yes the brick walls and concrete floor and ceiling help and I aimed at getting a relaxing decor to compliment evening listening sessions

Stefan: Yep the Canon Rebel (300D over here) is a great deal in the US. Inside info right or else you are a long distance telepath

Alco: well spotted it is an SME M2 which has just arrived (Sorry Richard) It is kind of bedding in still but early use confirms the quality of SME engineering. It is a smooth operator. The FRAIM does deliver musically aswell in my opinion.

No telepath abilities, here... I'm just on a digi SLR quest, myself, currently (having thrown an eye on the D70...), and I noticed the EXTREME improvement in pic quality (geo distortion, tonal depth in lights and shadows - incredible !, etc.), so I had to dig into the pic info, a little deeper...

Richard:They are good old IKEA. basically it is a square shape block of glass with arough outline which has a plastic base holding teh wiring & bulb. Sorry can't remeber the model name.

Stefan: The 300D is a good buy IMO. The picture quality you see comes from an embbedded JPEG which is automatically saved when you take a picture in RAW format. In spite of using 1600 ASA "film speed" the grain, though present, is still under control which allows photos without flash in low light conditions so the natural light balance can be captured. It is 6.2 Megapixel with all the basic functions, only missing a few of the bells and whistles compared with the higher price models, so not the ultimate.

As usual the best pics of the best looking system - no offence to the others here of course - all excellent too, I just thinks Geoff's set-up really does it for me!

BTW, I'm really curious. In that photo behind your Gyrodec, which one's you?

Canon have just released a new Digital Rebel - the 350D to replace the 300D. 8 megapixel and being a Canon it will be fabulous.

I have a EOS 20D and it is just a superb piece of equipment.

I highly recommend you look at Canon.

Just wanted to say thanks, Nigel. I took your advice and placed the 500PS on the lower shelf and the results were astounding!! The left channel opened up and resulted in a much more cohesive sound. This forum is always great for tips on how to better our systems.
