Thanks for posting the pictures. Looking at the set up of the speakers in the room I am not surprised you are having problems with the sound when you tried better components.

Also laminate flooring is a sonic disaster, floorboards or solid oak flooring is much better, but you need a large woollen rug to reduce brightness and slap echo.

Yes I have a distinct feeling the laminate floor is affecting things here. Getting a rug isn't out of the question, provided I can find one that's not too expensive.
