It's made of laminated, bended wood preferably oak (but also beech, walnut and cherry) and is dressed with lambswool. Very comfortable and gives you a perfect listening height

Dev B: Thank you, the room is 4,20 m wide, 3,80 long and 2,10 high.
I sit 3,10 m from the front of the speakers.
The room is in the cellar so I can crank up the volume even when the kid sleeps...

You are very lucky to have such a fine room to escape to. It's a great example of how a 'big' system can be made to work in a 'small' space.

And the fact that you are in the cellar explains the floating car.

Barely..... I'm in the process of choosing replacements. At present the power section of the 8000S drives the ESL 63s and the Tag drives the Gradients. Theoretically it should be the other way round but I much prefer it this way.
I don't use the stock Gradient x/over but one from this chap MT Audio Design .... a significant improvement.
It's a good site for Quad ESL enthusiasts.

I've mainly just stabilised the hi-fi rack and added marble slabs underneath the sub and speakers (oh, and the sub is new as well)

PrimaLuna prologue 2 amp with KT88's.
I feel it balances with the PR&T of the CD5i quite nicely.
My next upgrade is on its way ( a project 2 xperience TT with 9c arm, gradoGF3 supr cart.......just looking for a phonostage now so the Gram Amp 2 Communicator was top of the list)
