This evening I met a friend who invited me to his home to listen to music. He knows I love Naim and he wanted me to listen to his very expensive system.
His system based on micromega transport, VAC d/a
unit, VAC pre and VAC valves power amp, cabasse
speakers (large cabinet don't know the model).
Acording to what he says, only the power amp and the speakers are more expensive than my CDI,flatcap/72/140/ibl.
To my ears, this very expensive system is a waste of money. Another proof to me that Naim is a good
purchase !
SOUNDSTYLE.
I'm looking for a cheap racks and I found something from soundstyle. I don't know this firm.
The rack I want is 5 shelves and looks very nice. There are some more expensive wooden racks from soundstyle, but the one that matches my budget is with glass shelves.
CAn you tell me something about soundstyle ?
Thanks,
Arie

Arie,
If you want to try Mana, why not e-mail them directly? I'm sure they will ship directly to your door.
Do you know how Omer got his Mana?

Richard,
While trying to enter the site you suggested, it
brings me to this one
http://www.audiogamma.it/which has no racks. I don't know why it happens.
Can you please post the deatsils of the Israeli
dealer of solidsteel as you view it in your computer ?
Thanks,
Arie

Frank,
There is a window named "index" at the top right of the main site page.
Click on the "index" window and select the desired
subject from the opened window - you can roll down the list as it last down to the bottom of the window .

Frank,
do you think the problem is specifically steel (i.e. ferrous / magnetic) or any metal stand in general?
I'm wondering about the differences I might expect between the same design executed in aluminium instead of steel. This relates specifically to a custom stand that I like in steel, but might be even better in alu?
cheers, Martin

I'd rather have a stand that doesn't induce currents from A.C. sources and re-radiate. Sadly, Naim boxes are made of lumps of aluminium.

Vuk,

Just get Mana and stop worry about this stuff.
I went to Mana forum, told my problem, they answered very quickly (jw) and asked me to email them.
They answered quickly to my email with excelent details about all the subjects I asked - but
the PRICE, the price shocks me although I know it is not a cheap rack.
No one can convince me to buy a Mana table instaed of upgrading to a 102/180 (instead of my 72/140) and that what is all about !!
Well, I will find another rack, but not a Mana
(and not a soundstyle).
VAC.
I got a personal email from a person who loves VAC
and tells me that the problem with my friend's system is that he doesn't use THIEL speakers - the speakers that VAC are using to demo. He says that with these speakers VAC is a better system than Naim - so I bring his words.
He also tells me that VAC used to demo with

This speaker was designed by Mike Maloney in U.S. his speaker well known under-ground market.
Tesla speaker uesd Seas unit and type of tall-boy(two 6.5 inch mid-woofer and one tweeter).
Unfortunately, Now Sci-Fi company closed factory.
If it says something to someone it maybe interesting, for me it is the first time to hear about "underground" speakers - realy interesting.
