OK I got 'songs about Jane' and I really like it.

Ouch! My girlfriend really lies them and was hinting for me to get the CD. MMmmm I thought, not really my thing. Rather too girly?

Don't buy the "Acoustic" album - utter waste of time.......

"Songs About Jane" is fun. My girlfriend has it and plays it a lot. That and Jem's "Finally Woken" are among the cds of hers that I find the most listenable. Happy music.

The album is good fun indeed! My kit seems to like it quite a bit, it sounds nice, although the recording isn't good, it isn't bad either.

Tell me about it!

The acoustic version without any real percussion kinda misses the point.

Steve.

Steve

Totally agree. I heard them live and thought they had a lot of potential for this album.

How wrong was I !

Highlight of the album must be the cover of "Highway to Hell" - NOT !!!

If anyone in the UK is interested - £5 and I'll pay the postage to you !!!

Completely gawd-awful bubblegum music.

I vote them the next Hootie and the Blowfish.

Never heard of them but my rule of thumb is to avoid any group with a number in their name ("Gang of Four" being the obvious exception!)
Posted on: 14 December 2004 by Steve Toy
The music is well executed and they are clearly talented as a band.

Don't be put off by the name (or the number.)

Regards,

Steve.

...and "chicks dig it", so, umm, it's got that going for it. Which is nice.
Posted on: 18 December 2004 by JonW
Your right, chicks do love it (and the singer as well aparently)?

My Mrs bought it, when i first heard it, i commented "thats rubbish, it sounds like a grown up busted".

She made me eat my words though, as i actually quite like it now.

If you can see past the slightly poptastic mixing, there are some great musicians lurking in there, it a good album.

PS, if you like these guys but you just cant see past the pop, you should check out "13 Senses" now that is a cracking album (but not only does it have a number in it, its an unlucky one)!!

Dont be put off though, its a little known gem.

I checked it out at the store today and ended up playing it on my own kit Big Grin . Great recommendation by JonW Smile .

3 dog night
10000 maniacs
764-hero
60 ft. dolls
mc 900 ft. jesus

Do ordinals count?

If so, we can add Third Eye Blind and the Fifth Dimension (others as well, I'm sure).

Eve 6, Four Non-Blonds, and of course that rehash of ELP, "Three".
