Lucky you. My "Dixie Chicken" is a crappy pressing that hasn't improved with age. (Although it improved with a Lingo!)
Little Feat lost most of what made them great when Lowell George died. Are they enjoyable live? Yes. Are they the band that did "Waiting for Columbus"? Not by a long shot.

God what a band - got everything they did on spiral scratch and CD. I’m glad someone brought them up. Also like the early Robert Palmer with some of the crew backing – worth checking for the lovers of the country shuffling rocky thang.

I to was a bit dismissive of the post Lowell George stuff ,untill I saw them at the Ocean gig in 01 which was one of the best I have been to .If you get the chance to see them live, dont miss it,Shaun Murphy is a great blues singer who really adds a lot to the band

Don't forget the great Lowell George's solo album, Thanks I'll Eat It Here. Among the many gems is a stunning version of What Do You Want The Girl To Do.

The Hotcakes and Out-takes Box set is pretty much indespensible if you have a Cd player.

I wish I could agree; I bought the boxed set for the remastered quality (very good) and the packaging (very very good), but sadly only 50% of the box (i.e. 2 CDs) is pre-1980, the other half being reformed (dispensible) Feat.
Why oh why oh why etc etc can't they remaster the LPs from Sailin Shoes to Down on the Farm as per the Columbus reissue?
