Halo game, multiplayer help?

I just got halo what a cool game, would anyone be able to help me with multiplayer though?

I stuck a server address in and I can see a list of the current multiplayer games, however if I choose one to join nothing happens, no messages or anything.

I have switched off the fire wall.
