Neat Petite/Gravitas

I've been reading the forum for over a year and have enjoyed the shared perspectives and experiences. This is my first post.

I got interested in Neat Speakers after reading Vuk's impressions of the Neat Elites. I've been trying a pair of Neat Petite/Gravitas speakers this weekend. I've placed them about 6" from a half wall 36" (drywall) railing. Both speakers have a rear port. The Petite's port is above the railing wall and the Gravitas port is again about 6" from the wall.

My first impression is these speakers introduce some round earth charateristics without losing the naim pace and rhythm.

I've always thought a rear ported speaker should not be placed too close to a rear wall. However in this case the Gravitis bass response seems accurate to me.

I'm interested in other naim users impressions of this speakers performance and sensitivity to placement. Vuk's picture of his Elites looked close to his rear wall.

My system is CDX/XPS,Nat 02, Nac 102/PSC wi Hicap, Nap 250

Ian,
How close to the wall are your speakers?
