Any good results with different power cords for Naim CD Players?

I am currently using Naim CD 5 CD player in a non-Naim system and I wonder about the adviseability of after-market power cords?

...but the Kimber chords work well. Aren't most (all?) Naim power-leads 'built-in', btw?

If so, wouldn't cutting the lead to fit a male IEC connector invalidate the warranty?

This would be a downer... I'm considering a CD5 with Epona PSU, but would want to use my own Kimber HiCurrent Powerchord on it.

Since I have a CD 5, the ability to detach the chord is not an issue.
