Where to find Hard to find books ?

Posted by: Steveandkate on 23 November 2004

Hi,
I am looking for an out of print childrens book - Albert Herbert Hawkins, the naughtiest boy in the world, published by Piccolo Books.
Anyone got any idea where to look, or do you even have a copy you would like to sell ?
Please help a sad old man !
Cheers,

Steve

A quick Google led to Bookfinder.com which had four copies available from the States.

Amazon show two copies but they're a bit expensive...

Abebooks.co.uk is usually pretty good. However, same results on this occasion.

Also worth looking on eBay - a lot of books change hands on there, from commonplace to rare and out of print.

I normally use Fetchbook.co.uk for hard to find engineering books, but today it returned exactly what the above gentlemen have posted. It's pretty expensive!

You could try Powell's Books. World famous. Great place.

After incredibly hard and mind numbing training under Major Parry's command the girls and I often found wonderfully rare tomes were to be had in doontoon Hereford, innit.

Sorry to be so stupid, and thanks to you all - my friends, who want the book told me they had searched the internet high and low, so I took their word and asked you... Thank you !
