Robbie Williams New Song

Is rubbish.
How does this talentless shit get away with it?
However the new Status Quo single is really rather fun.
Nice.

i think it was liam gallagher who commented that robbie williams was just, "a fat dancer".
i think that sums him up rather well.

I'm no apologist for Robbie Williams, but Liam Gallagher's a complete tosser, IMHO of course.

I met Liam in my local boozer once and have to say that the 15 minute chat I had with him was perfectly civil, funny, varied and comfortable. On that occasion at least his behaviour was quite removed from the neanderthal image the press so love to paint.
He is no brain surgeon but is a lot more approachable than you would be led to believe. I'm not denying his snortin' and scrappin tendencies but isn't that a bit of what we have learnt to expect and even want from our rock stars - certainly historically that has been the case..............
The libertines are getting good sales on top of stories of crack habits, Courtney clobbers any passer by and gains column inches.
So, right or wrong, a little 'twattishness' can sometimes add to an artists appeal. Certainly in Oasis's peak, Liam's on stage 'come over here if you think you are hard enough' attitude helped to turn the band into one of the most important (in terms of influence) of the ninetees. Somehow I don't think that they would have remotely been the same without his attitude ans swagger.
So in conclusion, a bit of a twat IMO but one worth forgiving for the fresh angry blast that was 'Definitely Maybe'. One great album is one more than the output of most of the shit bands out there.
As regards to Robbie, the latest dirge is soo shit that even his dum unquestioning followers may start to get the message that the man is a smirking talent vacuum.

I thought Robbie's first two albums were pretty good, but after that....
Mind you I've got a Cranberries album too!

1% talent - 99% arrogance.
That concert where he attempts to emulate the great and truly talented Frank Sinatra.
Jeez.
Laughable.

The world is stupid. Someone like Josh Rouse is virtually unknown but every time RW puts an album out bazillions of music lovers race out and buy a copy.

Josh Rouse is my greatest find this year. It has been a really nice surprise to find out that he has four studio albums to go discover. I have 1972 and under clear blue sky - are the first two up to that standard?
Also have you seen the new dvd out which has a cd of rare stuff trown in - methinks a purchase is in order.
I saw him in the acoustic tent at this years Glastonbury. Although not a massive crowd, those who were there knew his stuff backwards and loved every minute, a great live performer also.

I heard a couple of Josh Rouse songs, 'Space ship and the particulary gorgeous 'Rise' , on a freebie Uncut and Mojo CD and its inspired me to get '1972'
It's early days on the album , but so far the title track stands out especially . Beautiful, dreamy, lush pop melodies.
Still yet to get around to hear Rufus Wainwright's latest and of course the Blue Nile.
As for Oasis , IMO, Definetly Maybe is the only Oasis album worth the hyperbole. Songs like 'Columbia', 'cigarettes and Alcohol','Live Forever' and 'Slide Away' were some of the best of the 90's .
Regards,
Rod

Under Cold Blue stars is my fave. Of the earlier 2, both are worth having.
Dressed up like Nebraska has some top songs on it. Home is probably his weakest.
The mini-album he made with Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) called Chester is a definite must-have.
The DVD's on my list too
cheers
