Show us yer axe

I've played guitar since about 1970 (for self abuse purposes) and had a Jap copy Telecaster for the past ten years.
I've been promising myself the genuine USA article and finally got it today. 'Natural' Ash body and maple neck.
Not only does it feel and play beautifully, but the sound has more balls and more 'Telecaster jangle' than the inferior article.
I love it. Come on spankers of the plank - Let's have an 'axe gallery'.
John.

Bass player here, Warrior Signature 5-string made for the 2001 NAMM show. A real tone monster. 80+ y.o mahogony, purple heart fingerboard, quilted maple top, etc.
Actually, I'm going to put it up for sale shortly, time to thin the herd and I've got something else even more special coming...

Another pic.
Nice Tele there, JN!
Maybe we should have an all-forum band.
Nah, we'd be spending all our time arguing over speaker placement and equipment support!

I wasn't happy with the artificial light shot, so here's another go with the cold light of a winter's day.
Keep 'em coming - nice to see that a bit of music gets in the way of the Hi-Fi.

Here's a shot of me and Felix Pastorius (the son of the late great Jaco!) with my Japanese Jazz fretless. I have a beautiful epoxy coating on the fingerboard that feels like glass. This bass really sings and it nearly plays itself!
David
Oh yes, he is really that tall (I'm not that short!) and can reach nearly half the fingerboard with his huge hands. He sounds so much like his dad that it is scary.

No jokes about the size of Martin's chopper please.
My friend George (GML) has asked me to display his axes hereabouts.

This one has Seymour Duncan '59 vintage pickups and plays like a dream. Good fat tone and bought new about '93.

I bought this USA Strat new in '77. The frets are now worn very low and it could do with a re-fret, but it plays so well I'm scared to have anything done. Has been set up a few times professionally and the neck "set" with some paste gunk stuff that makes it rock solid.

This one is interesting.
This is a custom shop Les Paul prototype of what became the Classic '60 reissue with the slim neck. This one was made about '87 and did many trade shows, but didn't have strap buttons when I bought it, but basic screws in their place only. It is made like a custom shop jobbie, but now has Seymour Duncan classic reissue humbuckers in place of the original hot humbuckers. The pickups are reverse zebras of the ones they made as standard, as all the zebras I have seen of originals have them this way around - so I had the factory make me these as a custom order. It took about 3 attempts and 9 months to get it right, but eventually they did.
I bought it from a shop in south London in '89 straight after Gibson had finished with it, and paid just £730. Worth a bit more than that now I think.

The Warrior is up for sale now. Pains me to sell it, but I do need to thin the herd a bit.
If you're inclined, check it on ebay as item number 3771495366.

Warrior is sold already, to the guy I bought it from. A really special instrument for sure.

I like Rasher's black 1977 strat. Sadly, AL4N, under the Prevention of Queen Act 2004, anything associated with Brian May must be ritually burnt immediately. You can either do this yourself, or call Maystoppers on 08700 080808.
Naimdropper - I did see your bass on EBay, but just couldn't afford it. A very helpful luthier down the road is building me a fretless neck for my Fender Custom Shop Jazz. I am buying up Japan CDs in preparation...

This guy HG Thor did my neck on the Jazz bass. Amazing job. I'm sending him my Tacoma Acoustic Fretless soon for another round of his magic.

Not sure if this photo will appear, but it's a Les Paul Coustom - bought in Florida when I was about 13. I'm 28 now but I've still got the guitar... magic!

Sorry, let's have another go at that photo...
