New iPod mini/iTunes question

Posted by: Richard AV on 22 November 2004

So tomorrow I should take delivery of a silver iPod mini and I want to transfer all of my iTunes music to it. I have nearly 600 songs in iTunes and nearly all of them were recorded in AAC, this makes 11.6GB of music, and I think the iPod mini has a 4GB HD. What is the best way of easily making these songs fit? I understand that I will need to convert them into a lower bitrate MP3 but how do I do that easily? Ultimate sound quality is not important as I will only be listening on the train/walking to the supermarket.

Thanks in advance.

You have a number of choices, goto itunes prefs and import, choose a lower import bitrate. Then select all the tracks and right click then choose convert songs.

After select all the tracks in the higher bitrate and delete.

The other is to create a playlist in itunes and put your favorite tracks in (to no more than 4gig) and set the ipod to only sync with that playlist.

I have about 100 gigs in the library so use the second feature.
