Banks and Active Fund Management

Posted by: Derek Wright on 18 June 2004

I am looking for comments on getting a bank to actively manage an investment portfolio rather than doing it ones self or getting another type of organisation to do it for one.

Any experiences to relate

Thanks

Derek

I suppose it depends on the amount of money and the complexity of the investments you have, and what your objectives are. My father-in-law’s recently died leaving a mix of cash, shares and a small property – we have decided to manage the lot ourselves, well me really, due to the managements costs and the fact I’m interested in doing it anyway.

Unless you ahve a GARGANTUAN portfolio I would suggest that you approach either a Stockbroker or an IFA. If you phone IFA Promotions on 01179 711177 they should be able to put you in touch with an IFA in your area.

If you want me to discuss this I am just about to put my phone number to PTs.

PS I am not going to pitch for the business!
