Apathy is Brilliant

Tediously, being a rather slow old reader I have only just recently finished
that great work "Stupid American White Men" by Michael Moore, and by pure
co-incidence to satisfy this totally unpovoked reading frenzy I followed it up
with a brilliant American novel.
Pink covered Mario Puzos masterpiece "Fools Die"
some 30 years old and he who gave us "The Godfather" was uncannilly relevant to
todays little Presidential toings and froings, especially in the National Guard,
come Reserve department. Really an excellent piece of fantasy and fiction I
thought, so why by new stuff by Woodward and co, at twenty times the price ? On
the subject of Democracy, I really am looking forward to casting my vote here in
Berlin on Sunday next.Being non German I recieved my paperwork via a neutral
Government postal service (as it is responsible)some months ago, sent it back
within days, and promptly (next day) recieved my voting slip.
Somebody advised me
against using a Postal vote as the bar codes within it determine ones identity,
as well as ones political preference, God Forbid, that would be almost
tantamount to Data Protection being abused, innit ?
To keep within the times, I
now have some happy reading from Portugal, namely "Fernando Pessoa" and his Book
of Disquite, maybe also soon to be most relevent at number 10 Downing street,
where they do all seem to be acting in a very Arthur Daly manner of late.
