chips and cancer

According to the Israeli paper, eating chips is so dangerous, that the USA health authority is checking to enforce restaurants to publish the danger as they do with cigarettes.
But I don't think that I'll stop eating chips, it is enough for me that I stopped smoking.

Yes, I know we're two cultures divided by the same language. but I've read anything fried seems to have that bad cancer inducing agent. That's chips, crisps and anything else. Seems you're only safe eating raw veggies and other rabbit food. but I really like the small crunchy fries!!!

And you call main courses "entrées", don't you?
Never was a word stolen from French so patently obvious in its meaning. I think you do it deliberately so that tired limeys stepping off planes in California read an airport-hotel menu and think "bloody hell, if these are the starters, how am I ever going to manage a main course?". Said limey then expresses said sentiment to waitress to be met with unfortunate looks of pity.
This happened to an, er, friend of mine.
And when people want "eggs" for breakfast, that's what they want: "eggs". Not the blinking Spanish Inquisition.
So there.
"Missing you already". My arse.

And what type of bread would you like with that, Rod?

"I know we're two cultures divided by the same language."
I propose that we table this discussion, since the point is a moot one.

Many things here are taken from the Brits since they governed here, including our law system - so all of you who criticize our law system, be careful...

I've read so much contradictory advice from highly qualified people who claim to have studied the literature that my latest strategy consists mainly of eating what I like the taste of, as I am not about to spend the next few years studying the literature myself.
However, one idea that seems plausible to me is that it can be better to cook with a good saturated oil, such as coconut oil, rather than the usual unsaturated oils such as olive oil:
