US Vinyl site...worldwide shipping

Posted by: Exiled Highlander on 12 August 2008

Those who may be interested in sourcing good vinyl at what looks like very reasonable prices should Google elusivedisc (yes one word). They ship worldwide and have CD's, DVD-A etc as well.

I would post the link but.....

Cheers

Dusty Groove?

Nationwide - yes. I don't know if they ship Worldwide, but they are another great vinyl source. Especially since you are in the Chicago area.

p.s. Sadly, I have no vinyl replay.

You got to watch the 'value for customs' shipping from the states into the EU.

I was doing great on an order from Elusive disk , especially with the US $ exchange rate until those B*****ds in customs took a look at the value and hit me for a substantial duty AND there was a handling fee to process it.

Elusive will listen to ER...suggestions as to what to make the customs value to help so it is probably a matter of experiment to get the best 'setting' for this since customs are not dumb and will be suspicious if the value is ridiculously low.

In Australia customs only charge duty on packages over 1000 bucks 425 pounds approx. Now that is fair and sensible and you can order a lot of gear for that cash.

But if the package disappears or is damaged, will you be reimbursed for the declared value or the true value?

Thankfully, with elusive one has the option to ship via US Postal Service (USPS). With them you MIGHT get lucky and not having to pay duty + VAT. If you ship via UPS or DHL you are virtually guaranteed to pay. USPS are somewhat cheaper to.
