If I'd done this before, I'd own a better system

Stick with the story, mates, follow my instructions and just see if you don't get approval for whatever upgrade you're after...
No kidding. And my wife agrees, though for me it's too late...

Not long ago, swmbo, purchased a couple of classical music cd's for listening at work. Lite stuff, easy easy easy on the ears.

This afternoon we were working in the office at home and she was playing these cd's. This is stuff like the classic chestnuts, pure buttah, like Barber "Adagio", Rachmaninov--Rhapsody on a theme of paganini, Debussy Claire de lune, Massenet - Meditation, Vaughan Williams - Fantasia on 'Greensleeves'. 'orrid punctuation, I know.

Anyway, on with the story. All this stuff just oozes, oh i don't know, it's just lite classical. I can see why she's glad she bought 'em for work. My only regret is that I didn't think of buying these cd sets and bringing them home with some new equipment "just to audition" from the local naim dealer. I am fairly confident that if I had done so she would have been so carried away that she would have said, "oh, I think you should just go ahead and get...whatever it is..." Really! As it is, she can't be fooled now, 'cause she's "discovered" these cd compilations and already has been listening to them at work and sometimes around the house. OH, if only I'd known! Obviously, the music to carry away the imagination of a spouse must be carefully calculated by musicologists to strike deep into the heart of the most normal, non-sophisticated listener. (isn't that sometimes how you might describe your significant other? I love mine like crazy but musically, she's not an adventurer.)

So, if'n you want to try this, go on-line and order yourself "the most relaxing classical album in the world...ever!" vol 1 and vol 2. When you've got 'em, drop by the shop, pick up that CDX2, 282, or whatever. Go home, slot it into the system and let it warm up. Explain to the wife that "I'm just doing this because I'm curious..." Once the system is sounding right, put on one of these cd's playing in the background on a Saturday. Don't say anything. In a matter of less than an hour she'll come round to tell you "I've never heard your system sounding so wonderful. What is it that you've done?"

The ending to this story is in your hands...
