Something stupid to waste a couple of minutes.

How smart is Your Right Foot ? ?

Just try this. It is from an orthopedic surgeon.......
This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't.
It's preprogrammed In your brain!

1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......)and while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make Clockwise Circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it!

You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done, You are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

It's true - surely there's a concept album in there somewhere?

I am delighted at how funny this is. I cannot make it do the right thing.

I can make it work if I move very slowly. All that's needed now is to speed it up Smile

Just tried it on the kids - they loved it...It'll be all over school tomorrow.

I think you can override this.

If you draw the 6 starting at the 'closed end' of the loop and move clockwise to form the 6 rather than - as I guess most do - starting at the open end, the foot continues to move clockwise, though clumsily in my instance.

I suppose the neural reason is that the hand and foot movements share a neural pathway at some point, and that the hand has 'right of way' where there is any conflict. Forming the 6 with a clockwise motion removes the conflict and allows the 'clockwise' signals to the foot to continue relatively unimpeded.

I was thinking to myself easy - and no matter how much I try. Excellent.
