FEPs (Vuk)

Posted by: Steve Toy on 20 August 2001

Folks on this Forum - who have posted on a regular basis at least - seem to win them and lose them with impunity, but who is keeping score, and what are *our* scores?
What are the measured criteria for winning them and losing them?
According to your good self, I "lost" 125 points (arbitrary figure maybe wink ) for opting for a non-ferrous rack - which, sonically at least, displays a lot of flat-earth qualities like Pr&T and accurate pitch - more than one way to skin a cat etc. etc.
To be totally honest, I'm not desperately *bothered* about my "score," but I am curious to know how the "system" works! smile

It's always a nice day for it, have a good one wink

PS: If anyone takes any interest in my above question, I'll be around (briefly) later today, then It'll be a week at least, before I can respond, as I'm off to one of the lands of the Slavs (CZ) - where such a name as "Vuksanovic" was probably sourced big grin

My score has gone from 40 (which was contested) up to 75, not that I'm counting. wink

My score is 90, ignoring Vuk's (invalid) reduction of 125 points - given that I've ordered my QS Reference for both round earth and flat earth attributes (sonically) = zero points...
Wait a minute... the first thing that *hit* me about the QS Ref table was the accurate-pitch attribute - now that has got to be at least another + 50 points (arbitrarily)- taking my score to 140.
Who's going to contest that one?

The QS Ref might just be the most flat earth table of the lot of 'em! (I'm taking a Mana Ref table to Cheadle on Thursday to find out). Regardless, I hereby invoke my power as FEP King to remove Vuk's penalty deduction.

I suppose Mike Hanson's score will go up dramatically when he (re)discovers the virtues of vinyl wink

Yup, you're up to 75 FEPs but you realize that even if you bought an LP12 and put it on a mound of Mana you'd still never top guys like Tony. As much as kit figures into your score, having lots of FEPs comes from your state of mind.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who don't, no explanation is possible.

still delivered me 170 (I gave myself 5 for ripping the LP12 baseboard to shreds). Luckily, it seems that I do not have to deduct 300 points for having B&W speakers - surely an oversight Joe.

Vuk,

P9/DynaXV/52/110/Quad52

That's what I have in the kids' bedroom.

I am pleased to be zero rated by the former owner of the ultimate high-end mallet system of CDX/52 etc.

I do like your less pretentious photographs though.

Quad 52? Tsk, tsk, dear Vuk. You are reduced two steps in rank. Return to your post.

FEP Master of the Universe Joe

P.S. No "I'm a crappy typist" excuses this time. The "2" and "7" keys are plenty far apart.

Vuk,

Which one? wink

You and I are as far as I am aware now joint first place. I'll fight you to the death for it tonight, I'll be armed with a Mana Reference table, which I reckon will prove superior to the QS Ref in hand to hand combat.

Ahhh - Mr Petrik, I think there ought to be a review of Mr T's FEP's.

eschewing Mana, drinking space-coffee in the suburbs of Manchester, and downsizing... soon he'll be pasting up cardboard cutouts of Isobariks on the wall, and will be hiding that P9 in a Linn LP12 plinth in a desperate bid for flat-earth credibility... all the while listening only to cable-radio! Is there no help for this man?

What - will happen next? Tune in next time for another edition of "Captain Kremmen"!

Rico - ok, the Kans are sorted, now whatabout the rainforests?

Absolutely, I want more points now that Cattlin bloke has caught up with me despite his mullet system… He keeps trying to sell his LP12 for no reason too.

Tony.

Mmmm space-coffee…

I must admit to liking a few round earth trimmings, too. That's one of the reasons I went to Densen for the amps.
Although PR&T should always come first, it's not exclusive.
