Ohh Spare Cash

Posted by: garyi on 30 January 2002

Thanks to a tidy bonus from Christmas I have a few pounds for some new music.

This week I has been mostly listening too:

Dreadzone
Nightmares on Wax
Groove Armarda
Tosca

Can anyone recommend some titles along this musical groove?

Thanks

Cheers for the link.

I have 360 and second light by Dreadzone and you are right they f***ing rule! I have just ordered another one from Cananda but damn can't remember which.

Nightmares on wax is great stuff, when I first heard it I wasn't convinced its kind of laid back chill stuff but like 'the chemical brothers' or 'prodegy' its very hard music IMO to describe or catagorise worth 14 of your quids to check out though.

What are peoples thoughts on 'smog', a friend recommended them mabye a different kind of music, I wouldn't know as I havn't heard any of there stuff.

Gary,

You got Thievry Corporation? CD and vinyl available.

Then there's Nick beloved Shpongle which he should have mentioned.

But forget all this - just buy Ozric Tentacles!

Alex

BTW how's your dewaxing?

I have an ozuric tenticles one, can't remember the name at the moment.

Heard some fantastic music last night from a band called something brazillia, and something elephant, sorry I was pissed at the time!

Heard Chemical Brothers latest, that will be bought for the star guitar track if nothing else.

Also heard zero 7, so will buy that as well, all in all I have plenty to purchase now!

If i could explain them I would, this is antoher classic case of a band I should have, but never heard of.

They have about 8 albums out, a little difficult to find in smaller CD shops.

I listened too and really loved the album 'touching cloth', and can heartily recommend you take a listen.

Its kind of laid back electronica, but not in any main stream kind of way.

Thats the best I can do!

Glad you liked it, I will be buying touch of cloth where you got it, bloody Virgin want 14.99 an album nower days, tight wads.

Their latest one, can't remember the name right now is very good indeed, that came out yesterday. I have bought that one.

So you have an Ozric Tentacle. Now you need 7 more.

Just for fun I added 'Maim that Tune' for the title and that one with the bunny on for the cover.

But Gary, Please get Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible, preferably on vinyl.
