NAC102 / NAP150

Hi all,

I'm going to replace my beloved NAIT2 by a NAC102 / NAP150.

The reason for choosing NAP150 instead of the NAP180 is the plan going active
with at least ( CD5/102 )/FC2/NAPSC/SNAXO/150's/INTRO2s (ugraded to CREDOs)
and NAP180s are really hard to find in the s/h-market.

Later there will be the final change to CDX2 ...

What are your opinions about this upgrade-path? Will the passive 102/150 easily
outperform the NAIT2? Does anyone have experiences with the 102/150?

Thanks for your advices,

If you accept that anything at all can outperform a NAIT (which not everyone does) then in my opinion you are likely to find that a 102/150 will will easily outperform a NAIT 2.

This is based on my experience of making the following upgrades:
NAIT 1 -> 32.5/90 -> 102/90 -> 102/140

...and of listening to a Stageline/202/150 - but not in my own system.

(I have never heard a 102/150).

Interestingly, although even the first of these upgrades made a significant difference in most respects, I still felt the 32.5/90 was inferior to the NAIT in some respects, and had nagging doubts until I got to 102/140.

As for whether it would be cost effective to switch to an active system in the way you plan, I don't have an opinion. But I weakly suspect that you should at least have a HiCap on your 102 first, if not a better source and pre-amp.
