Help needed with NAT101

Posted by: dave simpson on 08 November 2003

Hi guys,

Hoping someone can help me with a NAT101 problem I've created. I fired off an email to NANA requesting help but with the weekend....

Anyway, here's a cut 'n paste of the problem:

"I received the bulbs and have replaced the dial bulb (which works fine now), but I have one problem….. When I removed the dial/drum to access the blown bulb I didn’t note the exact path of the tuning dial string and now I can’t get the string path correct. I did note the string overlaps opposing sides on the small string guide (located between the rotating tuning knob on the right front of the tuner and the tuning dial drum on the left-hand side) however I didn’t notice how the string path runs on the drum itself. When I tried rotating the tuning dial (with chassis out of the sleeve) …everything appeared OK. Upon replacing the sleeve the dial binds during tuning moving only an inch or so. I assume I’ve got the string path wrong. FWIW---I also noted alignment of the drum with respect to the two black (alignment?) flanges and the drum frequency markings so I should get somewhat correct frequencies when tuning (if I can just get the dial/drum to stop binding.)

If anyone knows the procedure or can email me the service manual that addresses it (I understand it's easy *if* you have the NA document;-)...I'd be most indebted.

Thanks in advance,

dave
