Updated product from M2Tech

Posted by: Hot Rats on 17 June 2010

When I was recently configuring my M2Tech Hiface to work with my PC/nDAC/XPS combination, I contacted the UK importer Purite Audio for some advice. They were really helpful.

They also mentioned that they have a new product on the way. It will not replace the Hiface but it is apparently a more advanced product and it will be in a standalone box.

Sorry I didn't ask for more details. The new interface is due in late June or July. I thought it might be helpful to share this on the board. If anyone is contemplating going the M2Tech Hiface route, you might wish to contact Purite Audio for details of the new product.

It's called the EVO in case you want to search.

I have heard and read about it. It is why I haven't bought a Hiface yet. I will though give it a shot when it is available. Toslink option is what is attractive to me.

- High-quality aluminum instead dongle
- No external power source via the USB
- Possibility of an external clock source (master clock)
- W / SPDIF output RCA and BNC configuration
- Port AES / EBU with XLR Konketoar (including possibility to switch between the pro audio home system)
- Optical toslink port
- Port I2S

I found the above information with a quick Google search. It would appear that the price is anticipated to be in the region of £250

Connectors ...

The M2Tech Evo has conenctors on both ends of it's case ... the other end has RJ45 for i2s, both BNC and RCA for SPDIF and an XLR for AES/EBU.
