Eric Rohmer has Died

I don't know if there are any other Rohmer fans on the forum, but the great French film-maker has died, aged 89:

Eric Rohmer

I admire his films for their commitment to naturalism, and for their humane vision. It's hard to think of a totally dislikable character in any of his films - like all great artists, he loved all his creations.

Thanks Nigel - had not heard about that. I have his Tales of Four Seasons Box Set. I'll get one out soon and watch.

That set contains some of his best work, Adrian. Summer is probably my favourite - an unprepossessing (sp?) young man on holiday in Brittany (I think) becomes an object of affection to three very different young women. Towards the end of the film he is forced to choose and opts for... well, I better not spoil it for you, but it's a decision many on this forum might identify with Winker

Nigel - I saw it at the cinema years ago but my memory of the film is now poor so I cannot remember his choice. I look forward to finding out!
