New Dog

50/50 Poodle and Black Labrador, cute as can be.
No name yet, the kids are working on it. "Spock" it the top suggestion from my youngest, we'll see.
And he won't get near my Naim kit...

Labradoodles - are great for training to be assistance dogs, they combine the good nature of a labrador and the intelligence of the poodle, they are big enough to stand up to a counter and hand over a purse of money, using the labrador's sensitive mouth and can also pick up and carry things, eg mobile phones, keys, pull on and off clothes of their partner etc.

Also they do not shed hairs and so are suitable for people that are slightly allergic.

If you want you can train them to be a very capable help mate.

All reasons we chose this breed. Allergies, Lab characteristics, Poodle characteristics.
We've been Poodle fans for life, love their companionship and intelligence.
The boys (9 & 11) are ready for a bigger dog. Jaco, our current Toy Poodle is 16 -- and not amused by this puppy! They are starting to get along though.
The boys will be able to play with him much more than old Jaco (named after Jaco Pastorius, the world's greatest bass player!).
Looks like "Hurley" (from "Lost" though the boys have not seen it) is sticking with "Spock" as a middle name.
Training and family integration are top priority for this new pack member!

My sister's family has a Labradoodle that looks exactly like yours. It's about 18 months old now, very good natured but extremely boisterous. It shows no signs of growing up at any time soon. Expect a long puppyhood.

Cheers

Awwww - you must have read the threads 'When Sybil met puppy, 1 & 2'... With the mention of a new dog, I had imagined a whole range of possibilities of 'System with owners' dog' pics to keep us all excited.

Jinty has the classic Poodle look in my opinion. A great dog, I'm sure.
Thanks for the heads up, Steve. We have no experience with adolecent Labradoodles. We may be in for a wild ride!
And yes I've read your postings JWM. My music room is off limits by 2 doors to the dogs. My HiFi and musical instruments are just fine without a pet customizing them for me...

David,

I have an idea that there is some spray that can be sprayed on furniture to stop animals from chewing etc. If there is it might work well on speaker covers?

ps- adorable puppy.

I remember such a spray from the last puppy episode we had. Will have to check that out, thanks.
This dog is very sweet so far, having fun with him!
