Unlike Britain Our Deano, New Zealand is not in a virtual state of war. When Iran/Syria are invaded to look for actual weapons of mass destruction (barring the earthquakes that is) these measures will be deemed to have to be in place to deal with the many more cases that will arise possibly from the tens of thousands of British citizens originating from afore-mentioned dens of terror, innit Cool

I'm considering getting the new Apple ipod as soon as it lands here in the shops, anybody got any idea about such things, and should I get a Naim-like olive drab one to make it subconsciously sound better?

P.S. It's being paid for by somebody else as a present, if anybody at all at all was wondering? which is quite unlikely Our Mick isn't it! Great to hear you've been allowed back into the old Pink Salmon Show cosy fold again old bean, I bet they they really must've missed yer mate, innit Big Grin

Oops, Sorry Our Glenda love wrong thread, I thought you were talking about the football, avenue! Hats off to the Nottinghamshire Police etc, for getting the cowardly scum that callously mowed down the little schoolgirl last year in a drive by shooting. Both so-called ganglanders have just been given life, and let's hope it resembles something nearing that (one black one white), there's some hope left at least, innit Cool

Legally, it's grey. Can't remember all the details but iirc court position is that if the account has been challenged and confirmation made, in writing if poss, that details not in error then the money is hers. Insurance or financial reserve will cover banks loss. If not challenged the bank may have recourse. Not my area of specialty but have seen similar and know where banks have had to swallow the loss.

This happened to me a couple of years ago too with my present bank. I did actually spend the dosh, €600 ish, and they hauled it back after about 4 weeks, and I went into the red (though was ready for it). Apparently 1 calender month is the time scale here, then it can't be retrieved without court action, though as I personally make absolutely no standing orders I have constant control and oversight of my account, and if something goes wrong to my dissadvantage, I'm on to them like a shot (even if it's my mistake). What I did find strange in UK recently was the jailed pensioner lady being released early as somebody had anonymously paid her fine (she was very angry about it). Barring the Diplomatic/Scandal aspect, I think that she should have had the right to refuse that donation as much as if somebody had taken money from her without her permission, like illegal bailliffs for instance. In the case of Bank accounts, individuals generally don't have really much say over what goes in or out of their accounts (in their names), and have to be on the ball with the bank, if it's illegal dosh that lands in your account unknowingly, or other transactions linked to your account, you're fucked, innit.

If it wasn't so sad, it'd be larf-able Cool

I wonder who'll be jumping out to protect their precious bank systems now?

Do You Play Cricket?

Of course money laundering unconsciously or otherwise is a different ballgame altogether, innit Smile

P.S. Last week I watched a film called 'Funny Games' made in 1997 and , only in German I believe unforunately? though the type of film you can get through without understanding the dialogue I expect. I can honestly say it's one of the most realistically frighteningly nasty films I've ever seen, along 'Psociopath high IQ nutters' lines. Although not easy to compare to anything, I would say that effect-wise it was on par with 'The Vanishing' and 'Clockwork Orange' though only a far smaller budget affair, but with an excellent cast of actors in it, wunnit Cool (Check it out if you dare)

Lest We Forget, Again !!!

Well then Margaret-Adolf-Hilda, who played such a great contrubutary role in my own departing of UK's shores so many moons afore because of your radical anti-social policies, etc. Now Tony Blair and his crowd amusingly have jumped upon and refined & implimented those very same ideas in a far far stronger way than you could ever have imagined or dreamed of, and you must be lapping it up, and why not indeed?

The majority of British citizens are in massive personal debt (as is the Country itself), with no chance of ever getting out of it either (lucky that private debts are not inherent like they are here, innit!), Civil Rights are slowly but surely being eroded, and Senior leaders pander daily to the every whim of a certain 'foreign' Press Baron (though better than a British one I suppose?) through fear of Public debacle, and even more worser. Many British folk will gladly give you a State Churchillian-like funeral when you pop your actual mortal-curl to be alongside James & Ted & Dennis, in that great snug bar in the sky (on it even).

Though today is your 80th birthday so it should really be a celebration of what you gave the land of Britain with your ego, your
arrogance, and above all enabling the average Tory Johnnie to live their dreams of wealth and greed, which in reality are translated into
getting everybody into massive debt, less social care allround, and a certain small percentage creaming off massive unearned share bonuses at the cost of everybody else, through smoke-screen upon smoke-screen of dodgey dossiers, inquiries costing hundreds of millions, and getting nowhere into the bargain, with Habius-Corpus being chucked out of the window at every given opportunity, as if in some way it was personal Prime Ministerial material? (transparency my arse):

So; John Peel will be lovingly remembered by many today, and he's brown bread; though I wonder if you will be in the future? Your very own Loyal & Honourable Generals stabbed you in the back (though far too late), as will happen with your alter-ego pretending to be today's First Lord of he treasury, obvious innit Tom!

Let them eat PFI Cool

P.S. How do you make a fortune for security-tag company investors?

Release thousands of prisoners who normally should still be inside to justify their use and existence!

Did you know that an ASBO defaulter (doing something perfectly legal that you or I wouldn't/couldn't be arrested for) will add to their criminal record for ever?

I see inflation & unemployment are still going up in the UK (or am I lying or mistaken?) Cool

Maori Fashion is Number 1, I reckon Big Grin

Don't forget that Our Maggie was a devout Methodist to-boot (Wesley would have been proud of her no doubt?), though unlike Jesus he didn't want me for a Sunbeam, in fact I don't think he even had a valid driving licence? too much whiskey you see!

I hear Phil & Liz will be at the birthday bash, I wonder if Bobby M will sneak in by the back door too?

If I recall correctly our old head of music at school forbad us from playing that record in class (during free-modern pop lessions), I think that although it was number 1 at the time, the Beeb actually banned it as well, innit? Can we imagine stopping kids hearing hip-hop lyrics and old-hat pistols etc, being played today on walkmans & ipods (with video's from Apple too) I think not somehow:

I've always preferred a good old fashioned electric cooker over a gas one, they're more efficient, cheaper, cleaner, and obviously far far safer, with no silly ridges for a big old pot of ruby to fall off of, etc, innit Smile
