Ricki Fataar

Finally got to pop my Rutles cherry and saw the film the other day. However, it raised an interesting question. Is Ricki Fataar, who plays the Harrisonesque character, the same Ricki Fataar who played drums on a couple of tracks on Crowded House's 'Woodface' album? Can't seem to find any conclusive proof on my (admittedly short) web crawl!
Taa Laar!

RF was on the "Holland" LP by the Beach Boys, I recall. He also plays drums on many recent albums by people such as Bonnie Raitt etc (I think he plays on that "Let's Give Them Something To Talk About" song). A great drummer with superb feel and time. He lived in Sydney, Australia for quite a while around the mid 80's (dont know where he is now) and produced and played on many of the best records to come out of the country at that time.
The Rutles is a hoot and one of my favourite comedy films. I also picked up the vinyl a couple of weeks ago, and it has a "Magical Mystery Tour" style innner booklet which contains a lot of the movie quotes.
Great stuff.

The Rutles did a much better job at appropriating the Beatles than Oasis
I actually enjoy most of Innes' arrangements more than the overplayed Beatle "originals".

I had a friend whose band did Rutles covers, because they genuinely liked the songs

Ricky Fataar was in the South African group Flame, brought over to the US by the Beach Boys in 1971 and joining them (with Blondie Chaplin, who sang the lead vocal on Brian Wilson's 'Sail On Sailor') in 1972 for 2 studio + 1 live album, leaving in 1974.
