One of those moments - Happy Easter
Posted by: Michael_B. on 21 March 2008
It's been one of those moments when the music is so superb and the system is perfoming so very well that I've had a little attack of elated gratitiude.
Many many thanks to all the Naim people and to Peter at Cymbiosis for getting this all together for me....
Happy Easter

well put, and Happy Easter to you....
It is 8:00am here in the Chicago area and I have the day off for good Friday. I have a cup of coffee and have started my day off relaxing and listening to the Moody Blues on vinyl. Not a sound except the music to my ears and reading through the forum.

Lots of industrial plants are shut, lots of offices are shut and lots of people go away. You can more or less guarantee superb sounds from the system at times like this!
Spend Easter at home and enjoy the music...

Bloody gorgeous Julian. What's the spec, apart from Keel, SE? Nice plinth, too. Is she new or upgraded? Is she a she?

My Lynn is very sexy!

It's current top spec sans Tramp2 which does not work in my situation. I had the Rosenut plinth done about 7 years ago and is actually an old stock anniversary one without the badge on the back. Originally she dates from '73 but the only bit left is the outer platter.

A bit of peace wouldn't go a miss.

Many times i have the same feeling …. Gratitude to Naim and a sense of being privileged to have Naims.
The more I listen to other systems the more I value what Naim as achieved. Always possible to establish an emotional link with the music being played, something I can’t honestly achieve with other systems.
And I have never heard CDS3, 555, 552, 300, 500, etc. I better not!
PS – Listening “Martirio – Flor de Piel” and it is just unbelievable …. next will be “Paco Lucia – Cositas Buenas”, next ….

The platter looks remarkably good for 35 years old, Julian!
Similar story to mine, although the inner platter is also original and mine is 9 years younger.
Good choice of colour too!

Very nice PB

Finally, my own offering to the Hi-Fi porn picture list - a picture of Rob B's 555 in the Irish sunshine taken earlier this week!.....Not up to Kuma's standard yet, but I'll keep trying

Kindest regards to all,
Peter

Ideal weather to get cosy indoors round a warm amplifier.
Some vintage Michael Rother was sounding very fine on Friday afternoon.
More good listening weather to come, it seems.

Frank,
It is dangerous enough!
Edouard,
Now i finally understand what the 552 is about. It really is much better than a 252.

Hi Peter
Yes, it was taken with the new Panny LX2. Its amazing what a custom white balance does for the colours isn't it. Thats got to be the best replication of Rosenut I have ever achieved.
The Sondek got a special treat for the photo too - dusting!
