What cable isolation?

CULTURAL CORNER: Yowzer!
I've contacted several sites asking about the origin of this word - so far, they have all been stumped! I've seen Yowza used in advertisements in the Western US for such disparate things as white water rafting and yard sales - all appear in the vein of "WoW" or "Look at This!". Anyone have a clue about where this came from?
: YOWSAH! -- Yes, sir! From the "1930s: The Joe and the Jerk" chapter of "Flappers 2 Rappers: American Youth Slang" by Tom Dalzell (Merriam-Webster Inc., Springfield, Md., 1996). YOWSAH! -- Yes, sir! From the "1930s: The Joe and the Jerk" chapter of "Flappers 2 Rappers: American Youth Slang" by Tom Dalzell (Merriam-Webster Inc., Springfield, Md., 1996).
Another reference spells it: "yowzer, early 1930s, best known as the catchword of orchestra leader and entertainer Ben Bernie (from 'Yes, Sir'). From "I Hear America Talking" by Stuart Berg Flexner (Von Nostrand Reinhold Co., New York, 1976).
Ben Bernie (1891-1943), The Old Maestro. "Although Ben Bernie and 'all the lads' existed with prominence during the visceral part of the Jazz Age, it is Bernie's success with radio, primarily during the 30s, by which he is remembered. A most exquisite and pleasant speaking voice was his best asset, more than perhaps his virtuosity with the violin. He attracted many listeners and sponsors knocked his door often. He could put on a good show; equipped with some of the greater and lesser lights of the Jazz Age as guests. His show sometimes ended with the music just fading off into the sunset, or with a dreamy 'good night' dialog with that inimitable voice over top.He was born into a large family in New York as Bernard Anzelevitz.Ben Bernie is a Jazz Age personality only by the technicality of having an orchestra during the period. He is more of an emergent from it, which led to his radio career. His orchestra was the backdrop for a generous man who smooth-talked his way into listeners hearts. So yowsah yowsah yowsah...au revoir chil'en, this is Ben Bernie and all the lads... God bless you and pleasant dreams..." http://www.btinternet.com/~dreklind/bernie.htm Accessed May 12, 2003.

Lots of our slang came from the cool hot jazz age.
I just remember it being said as an exclamation. But also many slurred words came from the southern black community in that age as it does now in current society. Sup?

What do you have in the living room?

I would normally choose the system over the girl, but in this instance, I would not hesitate to give up the system in favour of the girl. Truly a beautiful young lady !

Someone seems to be standing the way of the TV screen. Not going to help much with the picture, methinks...

Sorry BL, but there were a couple of things distracting me from looking at your system.

Don't get confused about which system components need to be properly dressed or undressed!!!.

I hope it's isolated from the floor with spikes and not a ball and nut set up....

I've just had a great idea for a new thread - "Best looking system owner".
Alas I think the search has already ended......

Steve.

Nice paint job, do you use Dulux? Could do with some nice pictures on the wall or possibly use a signature wall and have some great wall paper erected. CD's and books and bits and bobs lying around on top of your speakers and equipment, shocking. When taking a photograph presentation is everything.
Have I missed anything..................... yeah why have you got a cushion on top of your George Forman grill? grilled pumpkin is nice tho
Regards
Diccus

Munch, I'm not sure what happened, anything can happen on this forum.
Look what would have happened if you'd posted the pic.

If she was hanging around in my bedroom, I don't think I'd bother with the telly (even with the munch hair stylie).

She will catch a dreadful cold dressed like that, my Granny always told me to keep my kidneys covered.
