I have a few. A couple that spring to mind are Dire Straits "Sultans of Swing (best of)" and ZZ Top "Rancho Texicano".
It's fun to watch the HDCD light come on from time to time

None on the Naim label. Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" is HDCD, but it's nowhere on the package.
Here's a few more. Also, all the Linn stuff is HDCD. Personally, I don't think HDCD is that big a deal. It's not going to change crap into gold.

I hear no benefit from hdcd. I love to see the light come on, but even well done, it does not bowl me over compared to other well-done cd's.

The Doors remasters (see the What are you listening to now" thread) are all HDCD and sound great. Quite a few of the Rhino remasters seem to be encoded, but not all.

If you want to get a bit "anoraky" XLO do a "Test & Burn In CD". It is on Reference Recordings and is basically a set up recording with a bloke speaking from around a room. Speaker channel and phase test tracks. Sweeps for burning in speakers (?). However at the end are some tracks recorded in HDCD and not for comparison.

Beck - Mutations
A fine example of HDCD recording!

Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels On A Gravel Road (not the remaster, which is inferior).
Incidentally, I hear a clear difference with HDCD.

Didn't think that there was a version of Car as a HDCd. My CDS2 doesn't show any of the copies I have are HDCD and I have an original US release signed by her, original UK version that someone gave me and the latest remaster version. Agreed the remaster isn't that good I struggle to listen to it. Is your version Japanese?
As for good quality hdcd discs try Joni Mitchell- Blue

My copy of Nancy Sinatra - Nancy Sinatra is hdcd. I've got a couple of others but without stuffing each one in the CDP I could not tell you what they are. Nancy sounds good though.

Virtually all of Reference Recordings releases are HDCD. They have an extensive Classical and Jazz catalog. Sonically excellent if not the definitive performance of any given title. Also, I believe that many of Joni Mitchell's remastered releases are HDCD and they sound quite good.

I checked my CDR copy of 'Car Wheels...' yesterday. It triggered the HDCD decoder on my CDS2. So, there is obviously different versions of the disc out there.

Weird that I didn't think any HDCD copies had been issued. I may have got an early copy that wasn't HDCD mastered by mistake and thats why it sounds c**p. They could have sorted their error by the time the second production run came out. As I got mine on day of issue.
They put out Joni's Court, Hejira and Hissing on HDCD but only Blue had the HDCD sticker on the front. Now you can't get them.
I notice from a Google search that most of the listings come up as HDCD remastered. But when I put my remastered copy in it doesn't show on the front panel. All other HDCD discs that I have do.
There hasn't been a CDS2 update I don't know about has there?

I have found HDCD to provide generally better sound quality than average and I enjoy most of them.
Here is a catalogue you may enjoy.

Eric Clapton - Reptile. Excellent

US remastered versions of Joni Mitchell CDs are HDCD the German versions (usually) aren't. I believe that the HDCD versions of Blue and Clouds sold in the UK are/were US imports.

We Canadians are lucky in many ways. One is that all of Joni Mitchell's and Neil Young's CD's are hdcd. Great music, well produced.
The Bee Gee's have quite a few out in hdcd inclding their double disc retrospective.

The CD of Tubular Bells given away by the Mail on Sunday was hdcd.

Most of the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson stuff is HDCD as far as I remember.

Most of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia live albums are HDCD. Also Laura Cantrell. I believe a lot of them are not marked on the cd or case (Laura Cantrell is one example).
