NAP 250 service
Posted by: Noel on 23 July 2002
My 250 has been home a while now. Maybe the sound had slowly 'gone off' and I hadn't really noticed it, but it sounded significantly better than when it went for service as soon as I plugged it all in. I always leave the stereo on and it has improved over the past few days. It was well worth doing. In a couple of months I will take it to a friends who has one of the same vintage and we'll put them side by side to see jiust how big the change really is, but a big thank you to Naim for sorting it so well and so quickly.

Hi Hakan,
It depends on whether they need to do anything extra, but it cost me approx £150 excluding delivery. Naim will give quotes and you can decide whether you want to proceed. I'm now thinking of having my Hi-Cap serviced as well.

How does the 8-10 years rule for re-cap vary if you leave the kit constantly powered? Is it time based or usage based?

Bosh,
The 250 I'll be putting mine against in a few months, is used frequently, but left off in between sessions. I always thought that a steady state meant a longer life for this kind of equipment. I leave mine on because I think it sounds better.
