Fun show, but SHAMEFUL there was no Rory Gallagher/Taste.

A good effort really, as far as it went. A few Pete Frame family trees might have helped to follow the developments of various bands and musicians. James, maybe Rory was disqualifed on the grounds of not being British? I was surprised he didn't feature on the following show though, of Blues at the Beeb.

Van Morrison?

Van is British, but half the acts were American; so they could have included Rory - taste were mentioned in the documentary. However, I didn't like the anti-Alvin Lee comments - played too fast and used too many notes indeed; any more comments like that from the Beeb and I'm Goin' Home.

Nonetheless, much of the programme was enjoyable.

Belfast is still British as far as I know! Winker

But when the programme is about the development of the British Blues scene (and the musicians featured weren't only British by any means) to omit Rory Gallagher is to omit a very important strand.

Isn't this all a repeat? I certainly remember the Long John film, and probably most of the rest from quite recent 4 productions i.e. last year?

Humble pie moment.
Watched recording of the Bobby Bland programme. Brilliant (although probably a repeat Winker)
