Cones/issolation devices or footers that have improved a CD 5?

I would like to move my Naim CD 5 to the narrower of my two Zoethecus racks. The shelf size is only 16" wide. The existing feet just extend about 1/4 inch over the shelf onto the existing frame, which defeats the stand's otherwise excellend issolation. In order to move my CD 5, I would have to use some type of Cones, footers, issolation devices. I do not want to get into ball-bearing type because of my poor physical coordination. I don't want to get involved in the "cone of the month club". Any suggestions that have worked consistently.

..do you want to put it on a narrow shelf?

to make room for another cooker?

Jay,

Have you tired placing the CD5 on the smaller rack? Who knows, maybe it will sound better? I would not bother with the cones, all of that stuff is snake oil and will degrade the performance of your gear--at least the Naim portion of your system.

PS: Listened to a Mac/Martin Logan system the other day...awfull...tune-less...yet another hi-fi scam.

To answer why I want to do this, as both racks are otherwise identical.

Well in my current configuration, the CD 5 is farly low in the rack so that I have to end down a fair bit to open the door and place in the CD and puck. This gets to be a drag. Moving the CD player to a higher shelf on the existing rack is not possible because of limittaions posed by my Ekos and Lingo which require the the Lingo and Linto to be seated on higher shelves (no to forget my pre-amp). If I could move the Naim CD 5 into the narrower rack, it could be placed on a higher shelf, but at this point, the spacing of its stock feet mitigates against this, because the player then sits partially on the surrounding frame of the rack. Hope this helpes and misunderstanding.
