Help identifying this record brush

Posted by: andrea_lee on 27 July 2009

I picked this up while travelling in Asia - by far the best record brush I've used. It expands to the width of the radius and then whisks the dust right off. Is there a local distributor for these?

Nice advertisement, Mate. You the distributor, then?

You guys are a bunch of cynics. I thought this was a polite forum. It has a label in Japanese I can't read and I was hoping people around here would be helpful.

And yes, it's a good record cleaning brush. I want another one. That's the reason I posted here.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I apologise for the childish replies. Sadly this forum seems to be dumbing down recently with stupid replies, stupid pics and the inevitable half witted smiley.

I do not know the brush but I suspect it is natural horse hair. I know Loricraft used to sell a similar one.

So, so true Mick. I can remember a time not so long ago when this forum was populated by members who could debate openly without any fixed postions or preconceived ideas about how equipment should sound or what people should think. People with an open view on life. Very few people around like that now.

And now you don't eveb know the identity of some of the people you are corresponding with. Very sad.

Mick has confused The Naim Audio Forum for another organisation, perhaps ...

You have really illustrated just how this forum is being dumbed down. Someone relatively new comes in with a sensible question and your first response is a single smiley without any text.

Your second response is a corny pic.

You have made no attempt to answer the OPs question.

I suspect that the activity level of this forum is less than half of what it used to be and it is drivel like yours that is making others lose interest and then they go off to other forums.

If you want to slowly strangle this forum, just carry on as you are doing but I find it rather disheartening and sad.

Come on Mick - it is only a hobby forum.
Better to be silly than acerbic IMHO.

555, I have deleted that last post. It is just inflamatory under the circumstances and will lead nowhere good...

Mick, if you're wondering why I edited your post, it's just keeping to forum rules about posting links to other manufacturer's websites. Even though they aren't really a competitor, I have to be fair to all. I'm sure you understand.

As for the forum having "gone downhill", I can't say I agree. The forum is a living thing and members will come and go. There will be purple patches and there will be moments where it seems not much is going on. Right now it's the summer (in the northern hemisphere) so you might expect less forum activity.

Main thing is, this forum IS the membership and those who post. So, if you wish to improve it, then please go ahead and play your part in doing so. That goes as much for you as everyone on here - including me!

Anyway, it's nice to have you back around here. I know you get a bit of stick, but it's not quite the same without you...

Richard. I'm not sure I understand this. I understand why you deleted 555's last post but if you are going to do this then why don't you delete posts which accuse all people who post smileys as "Morons" and possessing an IQ of under 10. If that isn't inflammatory then I don't know what is?

It's a fine line Sister. I don't wish to delete anything, really. It shouldn't be necessary in a perfect world. I have to admit I find this forum a model of maturity compared to some I have visited, and that's what makes this place special. And I can't be everywhere at once - I have a life and a day job!

I just happened to be here in the right place at the right time so thought I'd nip things in the bud, as it were...

Carry on...

If you had half the understanding of forum protocol you delude yourself to possess,
you would know my previous post in this thread was a response to Jim Lawson's.
Continue to parade your humour bypass if you must,
but please cut out the sanctimonious I remember when it was all fields around here BS.

Well, I don't know your identity either. I'm not sure what you're getting at with that one.

Cheers,

I think the problem on fora is that irony and sarcasm rarely come across as intended. Best avoided.

any idea how it works? Is it a good idea? I have a zerostat pistol, and that seems to do the job with static, and as long as I'm not doing any woodwork while playing records, I don't seem to have much of a dust problem
What do others use?
Posted on: 30 July 2009 by kuma
nero,

The brush I have seen doesn't actually remove the static from a record, yet it doesn't leave any residue dust on a record when you use it.

Personally, I don't have a problem using just regular Hunt carbon fibre brush to remove any dust present and make a point of putting a record away into a record sleeve after each play.

Zeorstat can come in handy if one is annoyed with a *sticky* Linn feltmat.

I don't know 555! Despite being told off, you're still posting those smiley things! You're a very naughty boy! Smile

If you do a search on Google for Furutech SFC SK
you will find a PDF to download which tells you all about the brush......Jim
