Why does the SNAXO have an on/off switch? Seems pointless as, like a pre-amp, it has to be powered from a separate PSU. I'm sure there must be a reason, though.

I've just connected mine to a SUPERCAP (replacing a HICAP) - the improvement is quite noticable, and I'm not even using a Burndy yet, only a normal SNAIC!

THe buzzing you had on the naxo2-4 should not have been there. If you want the Snaxo silent turn the power supply off, the on/off on the snaxo is to enable change without powering down. THe buzz you have when in "stand by" is normal the unit is only intended to be in this mode for a few minutes.
